Stillhouse Hollow fishing report 07/19/09

Fishing on Stillhouse is very tuff right now, there are some schooling fish on the main lake flats that are 12" to 4 pounds, most are small fish. You can also find schooling fish east of the island on the large flat near the south shore bluff that is on the east end of the flat. Again, these fish are mostly small. The larger fish are coming on Carolina Rigs on Watermelon Seed colored baits. The large baits, like a 10" Power Worm are catching big fish but the bite is slow. The fish are relating to rock and brush on drops in 20 to 30 foot deep near or droping into the 50 to 80 foot creek channels. Most of the larger sacks of fish are being caught between the island to uplake towards the bridge. Looking for the fishing to pick up as the grass is beginning to come in stronger every day. Once the fish discover this grass is coming back, they will concentrate in the grass and will improve the fishing for those anglers that are able to locate these grass patches under water in 13 to 20 foot deep. Good luck
