Stillhouse Hollow 7/19/2011

Stillhouse is dropping fast, lake level is now at near 8 foot low and dropping 2+ inches a day. Pray for rain. The grass is matted in 13 foot and less in many parts of the lake. Some bass can be caught early on frog baits around the matted grass. I have not found any dropping into the grass bite as of yet. There are a couple of areas that are producing some quaility bass on topwater baits. There is a lot of schooling going on the main lake and Brewer Point area. Keeper size fish are few and far between. Good luck and again pray for rain....

Stillhouse Hollow Lake report 5/23/2011

Stillhouse is on a come back. The grass is looking great and spreading out over all the same locations it had back in 2006. The big Bass are not near as common but good fish are being caught every day in the grass or on the edges. Best technique seems to be light Texas rig, small C-rig or shakey head jigs in or on the edges of the grass. Watermelon seed baits work well in all types of baits. There are some good fish also being caught in 20 to 30 foot in the timber on Texas rigs. As of now, I have not been able to catch the bass by droping into the thicker grass, but it will not be long before this technique is a good patern on Stillhouse Lake.

Stillhouse Hollow fishing report 04/26/2010
Lake level is 622.5 one half foot over normal, surface temps from 68 to 71. With that said, you would think fishing would be great, not so. Fishing remains tuff on Stillhouse. Over the weekend there was a 30+ boat tournament, 12.70 won with 4 fish, 8.71 big bass. You can catch lots of 10 to 13 inch bass in 2 to 20 foot on T-rigs (pumpkin seed power worms), shakey head trick worms in watermelon, and green pumpkin. The hydrilla took a beating in 2007 flood and has not recovered yet, there is areas with 1 to 4 foot strands of grass, but no large areas yet. If we have stable water levels this year, the hydrilla should make a good come back which with greatly help the fishing. Until next time - good luck.WayPoint Guide Service and WayPoint Markers . com

Stillhouse Hollow fishing report 03/03/2010

Lake is about 1/2 foot high. The water temp is 49 on the main lake, and found 52 in the backs of some creeks up river. Fishing remains tuff on our little pond. Most fish being caugh are coming up river flipping around the laydowns. With the warmer weather this week I expect to see the main lake fishing improve. I will be looking for prespawn fish moving up into 20 foot of points near spawning areas. I have several days open on my calendar in March and April so now is the time to book for your spring time trip to Stillhouse.

Stillhouse Hollow fishing report 10/04/09

The lake has came up 3 foot with the recent rains, water temp is now down to the mid 70's. With that said, bass fishing is a tuff as I have ever seen it on Stillhouse. There is areas of good hydrilla grass on the main lake flats. The smaller bass are in the grass but the larger fish have still remain tight lipped. Fishing should get better, but for now it is best to fish the deeper banks with T-rigs and shakey head jigs.
