The lake has came up 3 foot with the recent rains, water temp is now down to the mid 70's. With that said, bass fishing is a tuff as I have ever seen it on Stillhouse. There is areas of good hydrilla grass on the main lake flats. The smaller bass are in the grass but the larger fish have still remain tight lipped. Fishing should get better, but for now it is best to fish the deeper banks with T-rigs and shakey head jigs.

Stillhouse Hollow fishing report 9/6/09
Fishing over the last 6 weeks has been as tuff as Stillhouse can be. There has been lots of schooling fish, but mostly on the small size. I have found the better bass are moving deeper for the most part. Today we caught 5 bass between 3 and 3 pounds in 30 to 40 foot deep. Carolina rig small baits seemed to be the best. The first Saturday tournament held yesterday seen a wining weight of 6 pounds. I can only expect with the cooler weather coming fishing will get better. There are several areas with good patches of grass, but the big fish have not discovered that it is there yet. They will find it and stay there once the cooler water comes in. Good luck on Stillhouse.

Stillhouse Hollow fishing report 07/19/09
Fishing on Stillhouse is very tuff right now, there are some schooling fish on the main lake flats that are 12" to 4 pounds, most are small fish. You can also find schooling fish east of the island on the large flat near the south shore bluff that is on the east end of the flat. Again, these fish are mostly small. The larger fish are coming on Carolina Rigs on Watermelon Seed colored baits. The large baits, like a 10" Power Worm are catching big fish but the bite is slow. The fish are relating to rock and brush on drops in 20 to 30 foot deep near or droping into the 50 to 80 foot creek channels. Most of the larger sacks of fish are being caught between the island to uplake towards the bridge. Looking for the fishing to pick up as the grass is beginning to come in stronger every day. Once the fish discover this grass is coming back, they will concentrate in the grass and will improve the fishing for those anglers that are able to locate these grass patches under water in 13 to 20 foot deep. Good luck

Stillhouse Hollow fishing report 07/07/09
June was one of the best months for giant bass on Stillhouse. I was catching big fish on creek channel drops from 23 to 35 foot deep using a Carolina rig. On the 5Th of June my clients and I put together a 46 pound (5) fish stringer. My clients and I on the 6Th of June followed this up with a 43 pound stringer. The following week we managed a 39 pound stringer. This was the good news, the bad news is these deep fish have moved for the most part, there is a lot of schooling fish and some quality fish mixed in with the schoolers. As for the grass there are areas that have the grass coming back, spotty at best but grass none the less. I have pulled up 8 foot strands of grass and I am looking forward to continued growth this summer and the fish will then move back into this grass. As for now fishing i just plain tuff of Stillhouse again. There are a few spots holding fish in 16 to 20 foot up towards the bridge. The deep main lake fish can still be caught but do not expect to load the boat, you just need to stick to the points and channel bends and slow down. Good Luck

Stillhouse Hollow fishing report 05/13/09
Bass fishing on Stillhouse is becoming more consistant with every day, the fish are moving towards their summer spots. I am catch fish in 10 to 20 foot of water on C-rigs, T-rigs and sinko's. Focus on points near spawning flats to find the bigger fish. Good colors have been Watermellon red and Watermellon seed. Smaller baits have been producing better than the bigger baits for me. If you would like a trip to learn structure fishing, it is becoming a good time to book your trip. Good luck and remember to keep you kill switch and life jackets on.

Stillhouse Hollow fishing report 03/13/09
Rain, Cold, dropping water temps and the fish were still biting. Water temp went from 67.5 on Wednesday to 57 on Friday. The fish were in the same areas as last week end when the water was much warmer. Best baits were swim baits, c-rig and t-rig lizards and sinko's. Most fish are in 3 to 10 foot of water. Did catch several smaller fish on a spoon in 30 foot but no keepers. I expect that this is the week when the fishing on Stillhouse will turn on and some big fish will be caught. I have sever openings on my calendar, email me or call 254.702.8349 to book your trip.

Stillhouse Hollow fishing report3/10/09
The bass are moving shollow for the spawn. Bass are good on wacky Sinko's, spinners and light T-rig lizards. The water temp has risen to 66+ on the main lake. The forcast is calling for rain and cold weather the next few days which will move the fish back out to the points and drops.
