18 Jan. 2009 Stillhouse Hollow Report

Stillhouse has been fishing tuff for the last month or so. Only bright spot is when you find them they are stacked up. Today 33 boat tournament with winning weight 28.29 with second place drooping to 17.05 and only 8 limits weighed in. I am catching some fish on C-rig in 15 to 20 foot on structure, points and road beds. I am also catching fish up to 4 pounds on football watermelon seed jigs tipped with Paca Craws in 3 to 6 foot rock areas.
Water temp is 51 in most areas, I did see 54 on some north shore coves. I look for fishing to remain spotty at best for the next couple of weeks. The great jigging spoon bit we had last year just did not develop this year as it did last year. There are some spoon fish coming in 30 to 50 foot, look for bait fish and whites near the creek channel and on the drops. Until next month, be safe, Life Jackets save lives.
